- Can I change text that is already in the PDF?
- Yes. Click a line, retype it, click away. The old text is cut out of the page (not just covered) and the new text is written in the closest standard font: Helvetica, Times or Courier, in the same size and colour. On the rare page where the text cannot be cut cleanly, it is patched over with the background colour instead.
- Does it keep the original font?
- Untouched text keeps its font exactly. Edited or new text uses Helvetica, Times or Courier, matched to the original by style, weight and slant. Characters outside the Latin range those fonts cover are replaced with a question mark.
- What about images?
- Drag an existing image to move it, use the corners to resize, delete it, or replace it with one of your own. Original images are re-placed as-is, without re-encoding, so nothing loses quality. New images are embedded as PNG or JPG.
- Are my edits reversible?
- In the editor, yes: ctrl+z all the way back, and a "restore" button on anything that replaced original content. Once you download, the file is final. Keep the original if you want to go back.
- Is this uploaded anywhere?
- No. Rendering (pdf.js), editing and writing the new file (pdf-lib) all happen in your tab. Nothing leaves your device.
- Is it really private?
- Yes. The tool is code that runs in your browser tab. Your PDFs are never sent to a server. Open the network tab and check. Nobody is watching. Goon in peace.
